Alvin Shidlowski
Alvin J. Shidlowski graduated from the Ivey School of Business in 1983. He then attended at and graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1987. Upon being called to the Bar in 1989, he joined the Corporate/Business Law Group at the law firm Torkin Manes Cohen Arbus where he practiced in areas of corporate and merger/acquisition law.
In 1993, he established a criminal practice which focused primarily on commercial crime or “white collar” matters. His corporate law background made him uniquely able to critically review and understand the nature of the corporate background information and evidence which arises in commercial crime matters. He has acted as counsel in numerous large scale fraud matters including, matters of income tax and excise tax evasion, competition act and security regulations matters. He continues to act as counsel and provide both corporate and criminal advice to clients.
Alvin is a panel lawyer for the Ministry of the Attorney General’s Independent Legal Advice for Survivors of Sexual Assault Pilot Program.
